Charging port repair restores a DualSense that only charges at a certain cable angle, disconnects when nudged, or refuses to take charge despite a known-good cable. The USB-C receptacle on DualSense controllers sees constant plug cycles — eventually the socket or its solder joints fail.

Symptoms of a Failing DualSense USB-C Port
- Cable must be held or twisted to charge
- Orange charge light never appears
- Audible crackle or intermittent connect sound
- Port feels physically loose inside the shell
Rule out the cable first on another device. If the cable is fine and the DualSense still misbehaves, the port (or charge path) needs workshop attention.
Port vs Battery vs Board
Not every “won’t charge” case is the socket. A swollen or exhausted pack needs battery replacement. No-power or liquid-damaged units may need motherboard repair. We diagnose before quoting so you are not sold a port when the cell is dead — or a battery when the receptacle is broken.
How USB-C Replacement Is Done
The DualSense is opened, the failed Type-C connector is removed, pads are cleaned, and a replacement receptacle is soldered. We test mechanical seating with a cable and confirm charging behaviour before reassembly finishes. Protecting a New Charging Port
Very heavy right-angle cables that constantly lever the port shorten socket life. After repair we suggest avoiding yanking the cable while the controller is on a hard edge. Wired play is fine; strain on the receptacle is what ages the joint.
